Description: 'In this talk I will describe peoples' experiences of managing their risks of inherited disease and how these impact upon their lives. I will demonstrate that managing one's genetic risks has a range of psychosocial consequences for individuals and for their families.' by Dr Nina Hallowell

About the speaker: Nina Hallowell is a medical sociologist who has worked in the field of cancer genetics for 20 years at the Universities of Cambridge and Edinburgh and the Institute of Cancer Research in the UK. In recent years she has worked as a consultant at a policy think tank - the PHG Foundation - whose aim is to facilitate the responsible implementation of genomic technologies in clinical practice.
