You are required to successfully complete 96 credits, including a 24-credit specialism, and a 12-credit dissertation as a Capstone Requirement

Students are required to complete all the following Science Core Courses of 24 credits in total in years 1 and 2.

Students are required to complete all the following introductory level courses of 36 credits in total in years 1 and 2.

EXSC1003 Kinetic anatomy and biomechanics Year 2 6 credits
EXSC2001 Fundamentals of motor control and learning Year 2 6 credits
EXSC2002 Sport and exercise psychology Year 2 6 credits
EXSC2003 Exercise physiology Year 2 6 credits
EXSC2006 Measurement of physical activity Year 2 6 credits
EXSC2007 Exercise prescription and training Year 2 6 credits

Advanced Level Specialism Courses (Years 3 and 4)
Candidates are required to complete 24 credits from the following Advanced Level Specialism Courses during years 3 and 4. Each candidate’s chosen courses must make up a specialism in either: (A) Exercise and Health, or (B) Clinical Exercise Specialist.

EXSC3009 Current concepts in exercise and health Specialism A/B 6 credits
EXSC3010 Advanced measurement of physical activity Specialism B 6 credits
EXSC3011 Advanced exercise prescription and training Specialism A/B 6 credits
EXSC3012 Applied anthropometry Specialism B 6 credits
EXSC3013 Sport and exercise nutrition Specialism B 6 credits

Capstone (Dissertation) (Year 4)
Candidates are required to complete 12 credits from the Dissertation during year 4.

You are required to successfully complete 90 credits, comprising:

  • 24 credits in Introductory Level Core BSc(Exercise & Health) courses
  • 66 credits in Advanced Level (Core/Disciplinary Electives) BSc(Exercise & Health) courses

*For students admitted to 4-year curriculum from 2013-2014 onwards, Foundations of Exercise Science EXSC1001 is a pre-requisite for the Major in Exercise Science.
