A research paper entitled “Association of long-term glycaemic control on tear break up times and dry eye symptoms in Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes” written by a group of MBBS Health Research Project (HRP) students has been published in Clinical & Experimental Ophthalmology (CEO).

Supervised by Dr Kendrick Co Shih, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Ophthalmology, The University of Hong Kong (HKU), and coordinated by the School of Public Health, HKU, the study (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/ceo.13146/full) evaluated the effect of long term glycemic control on tear film stability and dry eye symptoms in Chinese patients with Type 2 Diabetes mellitus.

The group also delivered a paper presentation at the XXXV Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) in Lisbon, and a poster presentation at the 23^rd Medical Research Conference, Department of Medicine, HKU.
