個人簡介
Mr Alex Fung Ka-chun joined the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2024. He is currently the Programme Admission Advisor and Track Coordinator of the Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Leadership and Management Programme of the HKU JC Nursing Leadership Development Fellowship, as well as an Assistant Lecturer at the HKU School of Public Health.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from the University of Hong Kong, a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Open University of Hong Kong, a Bachelor of Social Science in Psychology Studies from Hong Kong Metropolitan University, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London. He also obtained a Master of Arts in Mathematics and Pedagogy from the Education University of Hong Kong, a Master of Education in Advanced Teaching from the University of the People, a Master of Public Health from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, a Master of Leadership in Service and Innovation from the University of Queensland, and a Master of Counselling from Monash University.
Besides, he is a Registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association, an Associate of CGI, a Chartered Secretary and Chartered Governance Professional, a Certified ESG Planner (CEP®), a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Certified Internal Auditor, a Financial Risk Manager (FRM), and a Certified Practising Accountant of CPA Australia. He has also been awarded the title of Fellow of Advance HE (FHEA).
Prior to his work at the University of Hong Kong, he taught at a local self-financed tertiary institution for three years. He has extensive teaching experience at the undergraduate level in leadership training programmes, integrated business functions (accounting, law, management, marketing, business communication, and finance), and international business management.
Currently, he teaches various dimensions of healthcare leadership, including Evidence-Based Practice, Research Methodology, Leadership, Design Thinking and Innovation, Technology, Human Resources Management, Healthcare Accounting and Finance, Global Health, and Healthcare Policymaking.
Mr Fung has a wide spectrum of research interests, ranging from emerging contemporary business management issues to the use of innovation and technology in medical practices. He has presented at several conferences on the potential use of telemedicine in Hong Kong healthcare practices, as well as the assessment of carbon neutrality from a business perspective. He has also published academic peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters with academics from various Hong Kong institutions on interdisciplinary issues (e.g., AI education).
