個人簡介

Dr Shum Ho-hin is a genomic scientist with an interdisciplinary background in microbiology and bioinformatics. He has been studying emerging viral and bacterial pathogens from a One Health perspective, particularly in environmental and animal sectors. In particular, he has expertise in genomics, metagenomics, microbiome research, bioinformatics, and phylogenetic analysis, which are relevant to this proposed study. He has more than five years of experience in investigating the emergence of infectious diseases, including SARS-CoV-2, Burkholderia pseudomallei, and antimicrobial resistance, using next-generation sequencing technology, core genome analysis, and phylogenetic methods. He is also experienced in the development of bioinformatic programmes for phylogenetic analyses to track the emergence of infectious diseases.
