個人簡介

林大慶教授1975年畢業於香港大學醫學院,獲內外全科醫學士學位,於1980年及1981年在倫敦大學分別獲得醫療社會學和職業醫學理學碩士學位,1988年在香港大學修畢研究醫學博士學位。林教授於2000至2012年間任香港大學社會醫學系系主任,2009年8月至2013年6月任公共衞生學院院長;2000年起任社會醫學系的講座教授;2004至2013年間任公共衞生研究中心院長;2007年12月獲授予香港大學李嘉誠醫學院羅旭龢基金公共衞生學教授。

林教授是澳洲職業醫學院、 英國公共衞生學院、 倫敦職業醫學院、 香港醫學專科學院(社區醫學)及英國愛丁堡皇家內科醫學院等多個國際及本地專業醫學學院院士。林教授於1997至2001年間擔任香港社會醫學學院院長。他亦曾擔任香港吸煙與衞生理事會副主席,香港特區政府衞生福利及食物局研究局評審撥款委員會聯合主席。林教授於2005年7月被委任為太平紳士,2008年獲香港社會醫學學院頒授榮譽院士。

林教授多次獲世界衞生組織委任為短期顧問、臨時顧問或專家成員。
