Dr Tabea Binger is a virologist and global health researcher with over 15 years of professional experience in virology, infectious disease surveillance, and pandemic preparedness across Africa and Europe. Her work focuses on strengthening global health through surveillance, capacity building, and collaborative research, particularly in resource-limited settings.

Previously a Research Scientist at the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) in Seoul, Dr Binger contributed to epidemiological and surveillance studies on vaccine-preventable diseases across Madagascar, Burkina Faso, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Ghana, while leading the technical and operational aspects of these projects.

Dr Binger also served as Head of Laboratories at the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine, where she led a multidisciplinary team and expanded diagnostic and sequencing capacities. Her expertise combines laboratory and field research with project leadership, training, and stakeholder engagement. Dr Binger is committed to advancing public health preparedness and response, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
