Biography
Dr Lai received her PhD from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Hong Kong. She was awarded the Croucher Foundation Post-doctoral Fellowship to undertake research at the University of Oxford, UK. She continued her post-doctoral studies upon her return to the Department of Chemistry at HKU, where she was appointed Research Assistant Professor (2004‒2010).
She joined the School of Public Health at HKU in 2019, and is currently coordinating a community-based research project on antimicrobial resistance supported by the Research Impact Fund from the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong.
