15th Anniversary of the Master of Public Health and Inauguration of The University of Hong Kong Public Health Alumni Society
To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Master of Public Health (MPH) programme and inauguration of The University of Hong Kong Public Health Alumni Society, the School of Public Health organized a dinner on 2 June 2015 on the medical campus.
The dinner was attended by more than 130 MPH and RPg alumni, teachers, colleagues, students and friends including Professor Sophia Chan, Under Secretary for Food and Health, an alumnus of HKU, and Dr Constance Chan, Director of Health, who has completed a half-year attachment in our erstwhile Department of Community Medicine. Professor Gabriel M Leung, Dean of Medicine as well as Professor Malik Peiris, School Director, thanked alumni and guests for their unfailing support to the School and shared some anecdotal stories about their teaching experiences at the University. A group of current MPH students gave a talent show featuring live calligraphy, piano and violin, and duet singing with the most enchanting performance. Alumni and guests also wrote their congratulatory messages on a large display board which came in the form of a tree, which symbolizes the growth of the MPH programme and that it will continue to prosper. It was a delightful and fun-filled evening where friendship and fond memories were rekindled.
